The Rose of the Rancho di David Belasco
Extremely dated romantic adventure play written in a style fairly distant from modern drama. A romance grows between a young Spanish-Californian girl and an American government agent amidst the turmoil of the US takeover of California following the Mexican War. Quite a success in its time, but that was 1915.
