Unimpressed is my one word summary of this book. It had elements I enjoyed, like the setting, that was very good. The subtle magic was kinda nice too, even though at the end it was, TOO subtle, to the point of being unclear. I'm not even sure what really happened at the end.

The sad things is my main problem with it is - I think - that it sounds like it's written by a guy, even though it isn't. The female characters seemed a bit like charicatures, and the way they are described just seems ... idk, off, I guess. If it was a female writer I'd like LOOOOL typical men, right!??! But now I don't know. Maybe it's just the way fiction is right now, that whole gritty dark realism thing that means everyone has to be an asshole and as we all know, there's only one way to be an asshole to a woman.

Might read the sequels if I come across them but I won't go looking.… (altro)
