The first half was a fascinating read on timepiece innovations and the standardizations of time keeping. The second half concerned the dating of the earth through carbon dating and other technologies.

This is a readable, clear description of the history of timekeeping.

After reading a couple great books on time, time keeping, etc. I was a little skeptical when I first started this book but it was a very excellent read and the writing and ideas moved at a very high level throughout.
