Being a life of one of the more enduring songwriters of the 1940's and '50's. A little unusually for the period, Mercer was also a very popular singer and an excellent record company executive. This is an entertaining book; it is definitely written from a friendly perspective, but there are few if any sources which describe Mercer as anything other than a nice man.
