A fine read for this Halloween/All Souls season this pretty entertaining comic is one to while the time away with. Featuring a series of bizarre tales and good art work the tales run from the supernatural to the icky. From a heist brought on by queer elementals to a sci-fi romance involving something that looks like The Thing to Western racism punished by a werewolf to people having creatures growing and emerging from their bodies to a young boy's very strange mother the stories collected run the gamut of to simply say, the weird. The art alternates between colorful eye-candy of aesthetic clarity to blotchy washes bordering on watercolor and they all appeal.

The limitation imposed on the length of the entries is what keeps the set from being better. The theme and brevity of the collection withhold the tales from being fully fleshed out leaving vague impressions at the end of the stories rather than a fully rounded conclusion.

A good page-turner for comic lovers and those with a taste for the offbeat and the absurd, "Death of the Horror Anthology" should satisfy the surreal palette of those with minds out of the norm.… (altro)
