Theodore M. Andersson

The Morkinskinna is one of the two major sources for the Heimskringla of Snorri Sturlson. This is a very well annotated translation and is obviously not destined to be a general reader favourite. None the less, for the serious student of Icelandic literature, and of the history of Medieval Norway, this a a well written source of good value. It is well worth the reading, and the more accurate rendering of Icelandic name forms is also a plus. As the title reveals the material of this book is chronologically lapped on both sides by Sturlson's work.… (altro)
