American Girl (1)

This book came with the "I like your style" American Girl of Today- it had a cd with a song from the book enclosed, but my copy is missing the cd. The book is largely the lyrics to the song printed with inspirational quotes from various American Girl advice guides and appropriate pictures of girls. There's a section at the back for girls to fill in details about their dolls.

Kendal decided she wanted to try karate starting at age six, and at age ten she was a black belt. She showed determination and put in extra effort in order to do this. This book includes pictures of Kendal, advice from her, inspiration, and information about the sport. This would be a good book for anyone interested in karate, but the lessons can be generalized to other sports and activities. It takes extra effort and determination to reach harder goals.

This book is a list of reasons that girls love cheerleading. Each reason starts, "I love cheerleading..." and has a photograph to go with it. The reasons came from readers of American Girl, but are actually pretty good, and range from aspects of the sport to aspects of working together on a team to using cheerleading for things like self expression and confidence.
