I liked the main characters. I think the author did a good job at having Rob struggle with the fact that life is unfair and that our prayers are not always answered in the way that we want them to be and in showing that for some people, the result of this is turning away (in part or in full) from God--and in showing that God is there waiting when Rob is ready to turn back to him and trust him again.
