Philip Ackerman-Leist

It's funny, but I bought this book years ago when it first came out. I started reading it back in 2011 I think and then was so busy with the birth of our son, getting our house in shape to sell and all that, I ended up putting it to the side. It wasn't until this year that I finished it. Coincidentally, I moved to the same small town the book's based in and have probably run into Philip Ackerman-Leist at the weekly farmer's market without it registering on me.

Anyway, for the book itself, I found Ackerman-Leist to be engaging and educational without being preachy. The book was entertaining and there were definitely a few points where recognizing exactly what/where/who he was talking about added to the enjoyment. That said, you don't need to live in his town to enjoy the book.… (altro)
