Cover
The cover, if it's possible, is even worse than volume 1. The bricks that serve as the background have been changed, but not for the better. In its original form, the cover's main image of Jangbang might have been a nice one - unfortunately, most of the detail is lost due to the faded, washed-out appearance. The overall color scheme of green and yellow remains the same and only serves to cheapen the already tacky packaging. Sadly, at this point I don't think Tokyopop has any intention of altering their bad design decisions.
Artwork
There's some really well-drawn action in this volume. The fights are wonderful, but they're nothing compared to the motorcycle races, which make me feel like I'm watching a movie instead of just reading panels. Also, although I'm not a motorcycle expert, the detail the artist puts into them looks absolutely amazing, not to mention time consuming. My only complaint in this volume is that the body proportions of one of the newly introduced characters seem a bit off. However, since I already know the artist can do amazing proportions, my guess is that the distortions are intentional. The character plays an antagonistic role and I think the artist intentionally drew him with strange proportions so that the readers would find him doubly distasteful. Unfortunately, while this works on one level, it still throws me out of the story a bit. However, in the end, the artwork is just as good as it is in volume 1, if not better.
Plot
**Possible Spoilers Warning**
Well, I'm happy to report that a real plot is starting to emerge in volume 2. Right now you're probably asking yourself why I'm reviewing the 2nd volume when I didn't really like the first one. The answer is actually very simple, I bought the first 3 volumes all at once, so I decided to keep reading and see if it got any better and, slowly but steadily, it did. Most of this manhwa is devoted to a back story focusing on Jangbang and a petty thug named Sanghu. So far, it doesn't seem to have much relevance other than giving the reader a better insight into Jangbang's character. However, as far as I'm concerned, character development is a good thing, so I'm very happy to see it. Hopefully, the other reincarnations will also begin to flesh out in future volumes.
When the story line returns to the present, Jangbang is out for revenge on Sanghu. Due to this single-minded desire, he quickly finds himself outnumbered in a gang fight. Gwanun appears on the scene and attempts to help without much success. In the end, it's Jojo that saves the day; that's right, the same supposedly super evil Jojo from the very end of volume 1. He and his two bodyguards beat a whole bunch of the gang members to a bloody pulp with only three managing to escape. Jangbang, still playing the loner, doesn't seem to think much of Jojo's help and brushes him off, his mind still consumed with revenge. It seems he intends to kill not only Sanghu, but himself as well.
Meanwhile, the priestess, Aram, begins to sense some ominous presences surrounding Gwanun. So, it seems no coincidence that in a warehouse across town six regional gang leaders have gathered to discuss some rather disturbing news. . . Thus ends volume 2.

Cover - 2/10 - Still a clever idea, but it looks worse than last time.
Artwork - 9/10 - I LOVE the artwork, but I don't think it will ever quite be a 10.
Plot - 6/10 - Some much more interesting things are going on now, and the overall plot is starting to pick up the pace.
Overall - 7/10 - I'm afraid the cover will never be good, but everything else is keeping my interest. ( )
