I bought the Kindle edition of this book, my first Maureen Johnson novel, and I enjoyed it. Contemporary YA is not my usual genre so I didn't know how I'd take to it. It's a fun story and a pretty quick read, I finished it in a few days. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the ending - felt like it wrapped up a little too neatly and I'm not sure if I was fulfilled by it, but I also might be over-analyzing. Still, it was a fun story. ( )
everyone should have someone in their lives that pushes the beyond what they believe their boundaries are.....this book shows that with a little love, guidance, and exciting adventure, there is a whole world out there to be explored..... ( )

Rule #1: You may bring only what fits in your backpack. Don't try to fake it with a purse or a carry-on.

Rule #4: No electronic crutches. This means no laptop, no cell phone, no music, and no camera. You can't call home or communicate with people in the U.S. by internet or telephone. Postcards and letters are acceptable and encouraged.
