This trade wasn't exactly what I expected it to be and was all over the place. The one shot about the day after was okay, showing the confusion as most mutants around the world lost their powers. The US government, apparently in an effort to "help" the remaining mutants, set up the Sentinels around Xavier's school, which of course didn't meet with the X-Men's approval. The last arc in the trade was about the newly-depowered Lorna Dane and her quest to find her powers once again. I've never cared much for the character of Polaris, so that was rather boring, especially since some weird alien creature plopped out of the night sky and really made the story take a strange turn. Also, people who hate mutants are trying to kill them off (like they have been for years and years...). And, once again, Apocalypse returns. Big surprise there.

Altogether, I found this collection to be disjointed. I was looking more for mutants' reactions to M-Day, but most of the story was focused on one character in particular (Polaris) and some strange quest. ( )

Mutant powers have been stripped from many of the superheroes and those without have to find out what they can do now with their lives. The remaining x-men try to consolidate their lives and on top of that there's a bunch of peole trying to kill them. ( )
