Poppleton stargazes with Hudson, buys a new grown-up bed, and goes sailing with Fillmore. ( )

Poppleton is a chapter book about his everyday adventures. Poppleton is a pig with a dear friend who is a mouse. In the first chapter, they try to find the best way to look at the stars. In the second chapter, Poppleton has an adventure while he goes bed shopping and eventually ends up with a bed to take home. In the third chapter, he goes sailing with his friend, Fillmore, the goat. The ride is a bit too adventurous for Poppleton but they still have fun! This would be a great first chapter book for kids who are just making the transition from regular books to chapter books. The chapters are short and easy to read. It would be a great first chapter book. The illustrations also give good context clues for those who are struggling with certain words.

But Poppleton is a little different. Gives me a little 'subversive' vibe somehow. Wouldn't really think that of Rylant, but hmmm.... ( )

26 months - my daughter really enjoys a number of easy reader chapter like books. It's nice to mix things up a bit with the picture books for something a bit more wordy. Poppleton Is always doing something oddly entertaining. ( )

This book is very cute. The pig Poppleton goes on three adventures in this book with three different friends. The first of the short stories is Poppleton looking at the stars with his mouse friend. The second of the stories shows Poppleton going shopping for a new bed, and the third is him going sailing with his goat friend. It might be good for students who are about to transition from picture books to chapter books.
