This is a beautiful book. It has a dust cover that unfolds into a map, and while I usually remove the dust cover of hard bound books I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the cover. I'm always disappointed when a dust cover is prettier than the actual book.

I liked the book very much. It gives an overview of the history of each "lost" state. There are plenty of maps to reference while reading. While this book doesn't delve deeply it did make me want to do some further research of my own to find out more. It is a quick, fun read. ( )

I greatly enjoyed this alternate-history look at the U.S. States that might have been. Interesting historical snapshots, topped off with a healthy dose of dry wit, make this book a delight from start to finish. ( )

This is pretty interesting ... unless you try to read it all at once (it gets repetitive fast). But most normal people will flip around, read a few pages and put it down, in which case, it's pretty good. ( )
