2558 The Road to Reunion 1865-1900, by Paul H. Buck (read 10 Dec 1993) (Pulitzer History prize in 1938) This is very old-fashioned history, and so politically incorrect it even bothered me. It is quite approving of the treatment of Negroes during the period, and is very laudatory of the retreat from the Radical Reconstruction days. But it was an experience to read, and I would like to read all the books which won the Pulitzer prize for history. I have only read 20 of the 73 or so winners as of 1993, so I have a long way to go.
