The author provides a lot of backstory explanations and cultural customs to explain the creation myth to people outside the culture entirely. It is an excellent book to learn about the Plains Indian tribes and their shared cultures. The author noted that the book is not from one particular tribe - the author combines them. Nevertheless, it's a great educational tool. A wonderful representation of the creation of the whole of the world. Using foot notes the author increases understanding of certain concepts, such as how an animal came to have red eyes etc. The story also explains why animals live where they live, and how the people communicate with the land. The art has simple lines and earthy colors and is done in a way that the story could be painted extravagantly on canvas and passed down over the generations. The Earth was Made New would be a great introduction into discussing Native American culture and beliefs. It is simple and covers a very broad subject. It would be accessible to all ages as well. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
