1) less important than #2, but still relevant, is that this is written from aan extremely pro-Mormon point of view. Meaning it uses phrases like "a harvest of wheat and tares" to describe converts. It only briefly engages with the church's lies about plural marriage. Many other issues with perspective dot the text. It's written by a Mormon for Mormons.
2) We know in detail the who, what, where, when of Mormonism in America, from its origins in the Northeast to Ohio, Missouri, Illinois and Utah. We know who was leading various congregations. We know how they branched from parent congregations. We know why. I hoped for that kind of detail on Scandinavia, but this does not provide it. The stories are without context that puts them in places or with larger groups of people. So you get an overall view of the mission over time, but not a sense of its spread or growth. ( )
