Billy Thorpe had an interesting youth, to say the least. While he is perhaps an unreliable narrator at times Thorpe supplies some bon mots about life and the music scene in early 60s King's Cross, Sydney.

He talks of being in a menage a trois with two beautiful young women, which of course may or may not be the unvarnished truth. Thorpe is not the best of writers (although he presumably had some help writing) but does convey the excitement of the time and the place when anything seemed possible. ( )

Fantastic bio of Thorpe's coming of age and career progression living in the Cross. Well worth the read.
