Most of the Tiny Titans will all be members of the Teen Titans at some point (not all necessarily at the same time.) They all go to school together at Sidekick City Elementary. They also go on field trips, play in their tree house and even in the Bat Cave. Everyone gets along for the most part and even those characters with the saddest and darkest stories get a chance to have fun and be goofy in this series. Tiny Titans was meant for much younger children then I thought it would be. It's full of silly jokes and visual gags and there isn't a ton of fighting. There are also a bunch of puzzles and matching games. There are some jokes that only make sense if you know the history of the characters (and I really appreciated those b/c I love it when children's authors put in things that work for adults and kids. The art work is fun and colorful and I definitely think the artists did a great job on the art style. It's fun and playful and I think the characters are true to themselves. This is the first volume in the Tiny Titans TPBs (say that three times fast), and the start of all the cute and hilarity. We see things like why the first rule of Pet Club is to not talk about Pet Club. And we meet Sidekick Elementary's new principal and one of its substitute teachers. And that's one of the things that I find great about the Tiny Titans comics. They take the 'bad guys' and their kids and wipe the slate clean for the kids reading it. There are no 'good guys' or 'bad guys' in Tiny Titans. Just people. A good message. As an adult reader, Tiny Titans did nothing for me. I wasn't really drawn in, and I have no real desire to read more if it is a series. The premise seems to be that all these kids are super heroes, or sidekicks... Batman, Alfred and Commissioner Gordon make appearances. I can see why young kids might enjoy this graphic novel, with the bright colors, action and creative super heroes and animals throughout. The super powers make for some interesting action sequences. It also briefly outlines what makes a super hero (costume, secret origin, a weakness). It seems like that for the age group this is geared towards, books tend to focus on clubs or groups of kids with similar interests. At this age, kids are learning where they fit in, and discovering that they all have various interests. After reading this, I don't really get a strong feel that it moved beyond them being a group of tiny super heroes, nor do I feel like I really understand their purpose. I would probably recommend this book to a child who likes super heroes and/or action/adventure. The paper texture of the book is more like a comic book old-school texture, or maybe coloring book paper? Either way, it's not the typical glossy fare I've been encountering with other graphic novels. Throughout the book, there are various activity type pages (a maze, a find the two alike, etc). nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

The young superheros begin a new school year. The teachers are super villains, the field trips are out of the world, and their playground must be protected from the Fearsome Five. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

I would recommend this to people my age or younger. This would be best enjoyed by those who have an affinity for superheroes but also aren't sticklers to the rules set by canon.
When I was in High School, I read the paper version of these comics and the magic isn't lost in e-book. If I could learn how to draw any of the characters, I think I would choose Stargirl because her color scheme makes me happy. Plus, she's happy all the time. This is a wholesome book and it is worth the read. ( )
