Lunar Outpost provides a detailed account of the various technologies, mission architectures, medical requirements and training needed to return humans to the Moon within the next decade. It focuses on the means by which a lunar outpost will be constructed and also addresses major topics such as the cost of the enterprise and the roles played by private companies and individual countries. The return of humans to the surface of the Moon will be critical to the exploration of the solar system. This is a detailed narrative of the key elements needed for NASA to return to the moon. This not light reading. 35 years ago America turned its back to the stars. are poorer for it.."The decision the United States made more than 35 years ago to retreat from the Moon and Mars was a mistake which cost a generation its chance to make a difference. For too long humans have been restricted to low Earth orbit operations and now is the time to move beyond Low Earth Orbit and start some real exploration....Returning to the Moon will allow NASA to restore its core values and once again enable the agency to pursue goals that raise the human spirit and reach for the stars once again.
