Attualmente non vi sono conversazioni su questo libro. 12/5/22 This is a kind of a boring history of education, which probably would have been better if I'd gotten a later edition. I admit that I was biased against it ever since they got their information about MHC wrong (pretty much all the details on that were wrong), but then, if they got that all wrong, did they get anything right? Since I don't have a huge background on the history of education in the US, I didn't know if there were other mistakes, but something like that makes me seriously wonder. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Examines our nation's peculiar faith in the power of its schools to solve its various social problems. Focusing mainly on the post Civil War period, this text shows how our early public school system was used in an attempt to solve such problems as racial inequality, urban decay, unemployment, and nationalization.
