Essaouira―in Northwest Africa
2. Write the summary of the book.
In Essaouira, fishing is no longer a good job. The number of fish that fishermen catch has gone down in recent years. Some of the fishing work has gone away. They want a different way to make money, pherhaps an easier way.
Their plan is working well―tourism is growing fast here. It's not difficult to see why visitors like the village. It was recently put on UNESCO's World Herigate List. Essaouira is now has a very good chance to develop their tourism and help its economy.
3. Write your feelings about the book in details.
They want a business that makes money, but they also know that they have to be very careful. They know that they can't allow tourism to grow without some control(See p 16).
Without some control, they would lose or collapse their economy.
4. Write the words, phrases or sentences that impressed you most in the book and explain why they impressed you. Or you could write your questions about the book.
The people of Essaouira do know one thing; what they do now is important. The future of their beautiful little village for tomorrow, may depend on the decisions they make today(See p 19).
What they do now is important and they have to make decisions carefully for their future. ( )
