so like some others, I did find the plot kind of vague and hackneyed. mob money, prostitution, love triangle, etc. but you know, a lot of books have hackneyed plots, and then it comes down to how well the story is told.

I loved the art style, and was genuinely interested in continuing to read, so that goes a long way. the most interesting part is the relationships between katchoo, Francine, and David. I am definitely interested in seeing where that all goes. I WOULD like a little more background on like, what makes Francine tick. there is not, really, any exploration (at least in this volume) of who she is as a person. all we really know about her is that she loves Katchoo and is great in bed.

despite any criticisms though I really did thoroughly enjoy reading this and want to read more, so 3.5-4 stars it is. ( )

Graphic Novel Book Club, Read #3 (Duo Set -- Book One)

This one was my rec to the group. I will never stop loving everything about SIP as long as I can read words and remember it's story. I was really glad to get to introduce it to brand new people, and to spend an afternoon/evening tearing it apart with them. It was such a blast. ( )

Read for my Graphic Novels in Libraries class, Moore's story of the on-again, off-again romance between two women, Francine and Katchoo defies conventional genre. Elements of drama, romance, crime, comedy make this series an easy adaptation into an HBO series. Definitely would like to read Vol 2. ( )

Pulpy, but in a good way. ( )
