Reading this book made me very pleased that I was acquiring some of the volumes in the 'Classics Club' series, published by Walter J. Black (from the late 1940?).
(I know, by LibraryThing (LT) standards, that doesn't qualify as a series --- some people, the arrogance. Ease up on me: I know that you can't please all of the people all of the time, especially me! On a serious side, I wish to deeply thank all of the LT people for their efforts. They have improved my standard of life!)
Reading this book makes me feel very soothed. This is why I have rated the book so highly. It is like a cheap and harmless opiate, not that I have direct knowledge of opiates. Beer, yes; opium, no. I wonder how the other volume in this series, "Hell: An Illustrated History of the Netherworld", by Richard Craze, will affect me?
On the last line of page 62, there is Chung-Tzu. The side bar quote, on the left middle of the same page, there is Chuang-Tzu. Are they the same? Why do I care? I need a life. ( )
