Clear and Present Danger -
This book is one of several books detailing the exploits of Jack Ryan. In this one the war on drugs has been losing ground and the President has given his OK to do something about it. Jack's boss the Deputy Director of Intelligence in the CIA is in the hospital dieing of pancreatic cancer so Jack is now the acting DDI. Jack is kept out of the loop on the black ops being performed in Columbia against the drug cartel but he is getting some strange reactions from people and thinks something might be up.
This is a great book, lots of action and is one to make you feel proud of our Armed forces. I enjoyed this book quite a bit and consider it to be one of the better Jack Ryan novels. This is were we meet Ding Chavez and Clark makes a fairly large appearance as well.
