Jo-Jo should have been a little more involved than just the bookends, man. ( ) The Monster Who Ate Darkness is a book about a little monster who was hungry, yet everything he ate failed to satisfy him. Suddenly, one night, he ate darkness and that satisfied him like no other, yet he was still hungry. He went outside during the dark and began to eat everything that was dark, and as a result the monster began to get bigger and bigger. The monster went all the way to the moon eating the darkness of space. He found himself on a planet, and he ate all the darkness there too. He had no more darkness to eat. He was sad, and so was earth, with no darkness there either. Earth was out of balance. More than that though, the monster heard a little boy crying because there was no darkness and as a result, he could not sleep. So the monster went all the way back to earth to provide darkness for the little boy. AFter the little boy went to sleep, all of the darkness oozed out of the monster and filled earth and space with darkness again, and order was restored.
