An enchanting WWII novel filled with characters struggling for independence and coping with loss. Mary Woodbury paints a vivid picture of life on the prairies in the 1940s. And her characters are engaging as well.
This is a fascinating look at WWII heroism that does not take place on the battlefields but rather at home in a small Canadian town. ( )
