That could have been the motto for this book. In this novel, everyone not only has problems, they each have a problem in dealing with problems. Charlotte's unfaithful past comes back to haunt her in the guise of her 5-year-old daughter. Curtis finds out that what you do has consequences and that keeping your mistress a secret isn't always possible. Janine realizes that it is easier to acquire a boyfriend than it is to get rid of him, especially when he threatens violence. More than this happens in this engrossing tale of love and lies. Well written with fascinating characters, this audio version was enhanced by the wonderful performance of Tracey Leigh. ( ) A thrilling Read! I thought "Love and Lies' was very interesting and well written. Kim Roby did a super effort in closing this series. There were a couple of plots that didn't seem to go anywhere, but I did like the way the new characters was brought in. I also liked the fact that the author didn't focus so much on Curtis. All and all, it was a thrilling read and I enjoyed the book very much. This is the fourth installment of the "Casting The First Stone" series centered around the devious Rev. Curtis Black, and still this was another good read from Roby. She knows how to keep the story flowing and writes plots to keep your attention. I found it interesting that she did not focus in on Curtis. With Curtis Black as a secondary character it made the series more enjoyable and it gives more of the other characters attention that could potentially broaden the direction for future novels relating to this series. An additional subplot involving her best friend, Janine and her relationship with her boyfriend, Antoine adds extra spice to this tale. Although not the Curtis-focused novel that I have become accustomed to in this series, there is still plenty of action to keep me interested and I was not disappointed with this book at all. I can't wait to read "Sin No More" due out in January 2008. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Best friends Charlotte and Janine have serious problems with their love lives. Charlotte's husband, the flashy preacher Curtis Black, may keep her living in luxury, but his book tours and evangelism mean he's never home. Charlotte's sure he's cheating and even hires a PI to follow him, but she's been known to have indiscretions herself. Her twelve-year-old Matthew is another man's son and she suspects troubled five-year-old Marissa, whom she swore was Curtis' child, might be the result of a tryst with a schizophrenic. Her friend Janine, a college professor, also is worried her boyfriend Antonio is cheating on her and getting heavily into drug dealing. She kicks him out but Antonio won't take no for an answer.
