This book would be a good teaching tool for students just learning how to work with math problems. The illustrations are entertaining, I wish I had a book like this when I was a child. I enjoyed the word problems, and the fun set up of the problems. Teachers and students could take a fun problem a day out of the book and work it together. ( )

This book is a blast to read! It gives you math word problems in the form of a riddle and hilarious stories. I loved the way it had me figure out how much a poodle weighed while on the scale with his owner. And it also taught me an interesting trick on how to multiply by 9 by just using my fingers. There were also a letter exchange from cat and dog where they use numbers to make certain sounds, deciphering the letter was strange at first but then was a breeze and it didn’t even feel like math!These riddles made me forget that I was doing word problems and just made me excited to do mental math. It is rare for me to find math this fun and all while reading a book, it is a must in my future library! ( )

This is such a fun little book! There are eighteen riddles in this book which are cute and relate to math. One of the riddles goes like this: "Early One Morning"
The rooster crowed at 6:03/ The pig got up at 8:15. What time did Farmer Ben awake/ If he woke up halfway between/ The time the rooster and the pig/ Got out of bed? Oops...I forgot!/Ben waited 15 minutes more--/Until he smelled the coffeepot." The answer is at the bottom of the page. This is a great way to get kids motivated for and engaged in math.
