( ) This is a very unique book. It has very interesting illustrations and tells a very unique story about turning the day into night and using different aspects to do it in. I like how the author incorporates the unqiueness to tell a story with a moral at the end. I like how the family is shown as the most important thing in life after everything else has gone away. This story is about a girl who has a busy day, but an even busier evening. She has to make the night. It is told in poem form as she dies the blue sky black, uses gold paint for stars, and flings a rock into the sky for the moon. She must hurry home to bed and put on her PJs and follow her nighttime ritual as well. This was a fantastic book for short poetry. It made me think of my Creative Arts class because this book is abstract. It is fantasy and would never happen, but the girl embarks on an artistic journey, one that kids can easily go on in their imagination. There was amazing illustrating work and a great point of view, through the eyes of a child. This book brings creative ideas to mind to extend the book into the class time. We could make our own night. We could take a sheet of paper, dye it black, paint stars and find a rock for the moon. We also could have a PJ day in honor of the fact that it's a book about the night. We could also make our own day, similar to making our own night. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
After a hectic day, it is time to bring on the night so that a child and her family can finally rest. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
