Explore a penguin's world, how they swim, what they eat, and what must be done to protect their habitats. Ages 6-10 I liked this book for two reasons. One reason was because of the pictures. I thought the pictures really showed what the text was about. It is hard sometimes for students to understand a informational text, but with the pictures, the reader could get a better understanding of what is happening in the text. The pictures were so cute and made the reader want to jump in and hug the penguins. Another reason why I liked this book was because of the plot. It was well paced and organized. In some informational text the author just throws random information at any place in the story. I thought this author did a good job in transitioning between the different stages of a penguin. I think the main idea of this text was to inform the reader about penguins. This book contains a plethora of information about penguins. It talks about different species of penguins, their reproductive cycles, diet, and habitat. This book contains a lot of information and is very wordy. It is most appropriate for 4th grade and above. The pictures are real life pictures which are great for grabbing students attention and reflecting the content of the pages. This book is great for teaching children facts about penguins. This book explains different types of penguins, where they live, how they breed, how they hunt, and who their predators are. The illustrations are photographs which give more meaning to the content. I would not recommend this book as a read aloud because it is a very lengthy book, but the illustration are great to show and talk about with children. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
