Dieses erste Buch der Autorin bereitet Shan Sas Thema der "Go Spielerin" vor. Eine junge Frau, revoltierende Studentin am Platz des himmlischen Friedens und ein junger Mann, regimetreuer Soldat, werden porträtiert, ihre Motive erklärt und ein fast märchenhaftes Ende erzählt. Was in der "Go-Spielerin" irgendwie eine runde Sache ist, ist hier eher angerissen.
Allerdings geht einem das Buch trotz mancher Mängel schon nahe. Besonders die beiläufigen Kleinigkeiten, die unausweichlichen Schicksalsschläge, wie man etwa an der Familie Wang, aber auch an den beiden Hauptfiguren sehen kann, machten mich nachdenklich und traurig. ( )

"Porte De LA Paix Celeste" (I think it’s in English “The Gate of Heavenly Peace) is a short novel. That’s full of emotions.

It’s a story of 2 main characters – a revolutionist student, very smart and sensitive girl, trying to find peace in her life after the suicide of her big love and a soldier, settled strongly in order and in the frame of communist China system. She is criminal in the eyes of the government and he is send to catch her and to “make an order with her”. She – with help of some people – is hidden in the village, in the deep province. He is following her as a wolf after the lamb. But in the meantime he is reading her diaries found during the search in her house. She is trying to find peace in herself. He starts to feel emotions which never accompanied him. How it will end? What will happen? Will they meet? I will not tell you that :)

It’s a short story of sudden changes and deep emotions. It’s also showing the cruelty of the system, where individuals are nothing special. But it’s also showing those Individuals who means a lot.

If you want to spend an hour or two on reading – that could be a nice suggestion. ( )

J'aime beaucoup Shan Sa depuis j'ai fait sa connaissance grâce à l'émission "Double Je" animée par Bernard Pivot.

"Porte de la Paix céleste", son premier roman, est un très beau petit livre qui se lit rapidement.

L'histoire se déroule peu après le massacre de Tian An Men en 1989. Il y est question de deux personnes que tout oppose. Zhao, un soldat croyant aveuglement en l'idéologie de Mao, doit partir à la poursuite de Ayamei, qui avait pris une part active dans les émeutes et qui est partie se cacher dans la montagne. Pendant sa chasse, Zhao a accès au journal d'adolescente d'Ayamei et grâce à cette découverte il commence à voir le monde différement...
Une très belle histoire dans laquelle, tout comme les récits de Chi Li, les aspects chinois et humains se mélangent. En dépit de nos circonstances différentes on s'identifie facilement à Ayamei, et on voudrait tant que Zhang l'épargne...Le style est sobre et poétique à la fois: "Parmis les fleurs d'été, j'aime les iris. Leurs feuilles ressemblent aux glaives rapides et leurs fleurs aux flammes ardentes. La légende veut que l'iris soit la métamorphose d'une princesse qui combattait contre les envahisseurs et qui mourut sur le champ de bataille..." Recommandé!!! ( )
