It teaches the students not to give and keep trying because you are capable of acheiving anything. It would be a good book to encourage students to try harder because they can do it! ( ) Ron was a little boy who thought his sister Latrice knew everything just because she was older. He was being bullied at school and his sister always took up for him. They had a Kwanza Contest going on at the center in their neighborhood. Who ever was the winner would win a prize. Ron was going up against a lot of other talented people, but since his carving had meaning to it he won half of the prize money. He even help the bully at the end with fixing a special cane that belonged to his mother. I love this book because you always suppose to forgive people who do you wrong one day you might just need them. A boy, named Ronald, lives in an apartment with his grandmother and older sister. There is a contest at a local youth center: the best display celebrating Kwanzaa wins $50. Ron and his sister are both interested in participating. He carves an alligator from a soap bar and tells a story. Ron ties at the contest, so he receives half the prize money. He chooses to take his grandmother and sister out to celebrate and buy something for his grandma, his sister, and himself. The book would be a benefit to a discussion about talents and support from others. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
