Learn of the Peenemunde saucer project and how it was slated to go atomic. Read the testimony of a German eyewitness who saw magnetic discs. Read the US governments own reports on German field propulsion saucers. Read how the post-war German KM-2 field propulsion rocket worked. Learn details of the work of Karl Schappeller and Viktor Schauberger. Learn how their ideas figure in the quest to build field propulsion flying discs. Find out what happened to this technology after the war. Find out how the Canadians got saucer technology directly from the SS. Find out about the surviving Third Power of former Nazis. The Dalai Lama, when asked “What is wisdom?”, reportedly replied “Wisdom is learning something from everyone you meet”. I try to learn something from every book I read. Sometimes it is damn hard.

As mentioned before, I have a reading program for books claiming various Nazi wonder weapons. This started out as background research for a friend who wanted ideas for role-playing campaign, but with my OCD metamorphosed into continued acquisition of really ugly stuff. Thus, Hitler’s Flying Saucers.

As you might expect, this is not exactly a scholarly history. Author Henry Stevens depends on various “eyewitness” reports of miscellaneous inhabitants of the Third Reich, often eastern POWs, who years after the fact reported seeing various disk-shaped things that flew around making funny humming noises. There are some blurred photos of roundish things in the sky (since almost all of these were taken long after the war, Stevens attributes them to Nazis operating from hidden bases in South America or Antarctica). Stevens also produces various German scientists whom he claims developed saucers that were powered by “field energy” or “ether engines” or various other mechanisms – possibly the German saucer program never got off the ground because the SS couldn’t figure out which of the numerous technologies to support. (One device supposedly used an electric fan to move air in a vortex that would continuously compress until atomic reactions began to take place. Seems unlikely.) There are various photographs of disk shaped plastic models, German documents with phrasing that someone with a vivid imagination might construe as references to flying saucers, and, strangely, an copy of the infamous MJ-12 Eisenhower briefing.

The reason this last is strange is that Stevens is convinced that MUFON and similar organizations are actually all fronts for the FBI/CIA/UJA etc., who are covering up the US’ possession of ex-Nazi spaceships by blaming sightings on space aliens. Stevens must have had a page to fill so included the MJ-12 stuff just to prove how devious the Gobernment is.

Well, now that I’ve done it I don’t suggest anybody else read this. ( )
