This book covers mathematical concepts I have never heard of, so this book is literally a math book for all ages. I would assume gifted math students will find this compelling and will definitely broaden their horizons. It would be effortless to incorporate this book into a lesson plan. ( )

Personally, I enjoyed The Number Devil More - this one seemed a bit forced at times.
I'm guessing that this is one that Z will go back to again and again to work on the problems - like magic number squares. ( )

I'm always looking for books that combine literature and mathematics. Pappas shows the fun side of math, not just for the math lover, but also for the math phobic. The whimsical persona she has chosen to narrate mathematical fun is her cat, Penrose. Some sections I've read aloud to my preschool children to their enjoyment, but it's really going to be received best in early elementary school, I suspect. In a classroom, this would be a fun read aloud.
