Juvenile Fiction. Juvenile Literature. HTML:

Judy Moody is making a list and checking it twice, but all her brother, Stink, wants this year is snow. It hasn't snowed on Christmas in Virginia in more than a hundred years, however, so what are the chances that that will change? Enter the new mailman, Mr. Jack Frost, who not only looks like a jolly old elf but also seems to know a lot about weather patterns, has a fondness for the cold, and works looooooong hours during the holiday season. Plus it's the best time of the year, when strange packages and lots of surprises are swirling around, so isn't it possible that Stink might get his wish? Fans who curl up with this new Moody comedy can be sure that their bellies will shake like a bowl full of jelly.

This book is about a girl named judy. She also has a brother named stink. Her and her brother wanted to sleep in the living room on christmas eve so they did. They both looked out the window and saw no snow. It was warm outside though. Stink wanted to play in snow for his present though. He decided to make a bet with judy. judy said it wouldn't snow but stink said it would. Sink won the bet and they both played in the snow. ( )

Judy Moody and Stink tell you of a Christmas they wished for snow. It all started when "Jack Forst" disguised as the mailman brought them a package. As Stink took the package from Jack he told him that he wanted nothing more than for it to snow for Christmas. When they opened the package they were surprised to find a pair of mittens in their for each of them. Jack said he would pass the information along. During the week before Christmas their school put on a musical in whcih Stink was supposed to play a mouse. Well he had spent the weeks prior studying snow and decided that instead of a mouse he was going to be a snowfalke. He came onstage with an all white outfit with STELLAR DENDRITE written in bold black letters written across his chest. He floated around the stage like the snowfalke he was praying would come.
On Christmas Eve it looked as though there would not be a snow flake for miles. Since Stink fell asleep first Judy decdided that she wanted Stink to be happy on Christmas so she spent hours cutting out snowflakes an placing them sporatically around the room to portray snow. When he woke he screamed that it snowed, Judy said It was fake snow. He insisted that there was snow out there and after hesitating Judy got up to investigate to find out that it indeed did snow.
My children were amazed that the sister took time to think about the disappointing morning if it indeed did not snow so she selflessly decided to spend the time needed to cute and spread out lots of paper flakes thruought the house. We have never seen snow until this year so they loved the story.
In a classroom we would incorporate the art of cutting snowflakes and how no two snowflakes were the same. We could also incorporate what kind of animals best live in snowy weather.

"First there was Judy and then there was Stink and now . . . they are together in their own book, filled with color illustrations and a sparkly, kid-attracting cover. For young readers who have learned to read with Judy and her brother, this is an event worth celebrating. All Stink wants for Christmas is SNOW"
