A book about a Chinese woman that was born in China, fled to Taiwan with her family and eventually moved to the United States. The main theme of the book is the common bonds of womanhood. She talks about her grandmother, who did not even have a name of her own, and other women in her life. You get a good picture of how unimportant women were in long ago China, and how that has changed and stayed the same today. The author was very aware of the unfair way women were seen and treated from a very young age. A good read. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
