Book Title: I Need Coffee
Author: Bodhisattwa Das
Format: Paperback

My Thoughts:
Poetry is an art form that can be perceived in infinite ways. A good poem is a collection of words that describe extreme levels of all emotions in the most desirable manner. Apart from the general poetry that talks about love, couples, relationships, inspiration, etc., i.e. which comprise and come under the known and familiar emotions, there are also poems and poetry which are absurd and abstract.

Famous poets and writers like Kierkegaard, Camus, Kafka, Nietzsche, Eliot, Robert Frost and many more have created a revolution in Literature through their absurd art. Out of which, the theory of Nihilism is the most famous.

In the book' Things Fall Apart ' by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, it is described that - ' The idea of Nihilism in modern Literature and art came into force, apart from Nietzche's philosophy, due to some paradigm shift around the modernist age. Further, Nihilism is characterized as emptying the world and especially human existence of meaning, purpose, truth, and value. Hence, the Nihilist approach relates to the Modernist's sense of plight, despair and pain.

I chose to explain the above because this book by port Bodhisattwa Das is based on Nihilism. The abstractness in every poem has given the readers the freedom to comprehend with their own psyche. Being an ardent reader of Kafka and Nietzsche works, it was like a home-coming while reading this book.

I Need Coffee, this book is divided into six episodes, and each episode is the best in the lot. I would like to mention and explain a few things from episode 5, titled - Ditty!

One of the poems form this episode, ' Lost and Found,' is exceptionally captivating. Here, a reader can choose his muse at his free-will. When I read it for the first time, I imagined ' Mother Nature ' expressing her woes. But, I was not happy with my analysis. I read the poem for the second time, and I found the poem as the words of a failed soul. It is the poet's absolute brilliance that gives the reader infinite amounts of free space to interpret every word of the poem in various ways. The poem will also impact a person's mindset according to the times, situation and mood of reading. And this is why, more than Prose, Poetry is one of the powerful weapons. No matter, every revolution has its own set of poets who brought significant momentum.

It is indeed a great feeling to read and discuss powerful poetry. But what is more interesting is that the poet Bodhisattwa Das is a student. I respect and envy his intellect and wish him great success in his future works.

Final Verdict
A collection of great poetry!
