Lily becomes the new baker at Paws-N-Pastries after a break-up with her fiancé and a move across the country. Jellybean, an overweight calico, takes a liking to her. When the mayor comes in looking for a new chair for the Easter Egg Hunt, Lily volunteers, a move not liked by some. She becomes acquainted with Evan who will be supplying the eggs for the hunt as well as his daughter April. Jellybean and April also become acquainted. Then it looks like the Easter Egg Hunt will be cancelled when someone destroys the football field where it was to be held. Who did it? Will they find another place to hold the hunt? Is romance in the air?

I enjoyed this story. It is a quick read but fun. I love that each chapter alternates between the human and their thoughts and actions and the cats who are being housed there until a forever home can be found for them. The cats have a lot to say amongst themselves. They are good a solving mysteries. They really get into them, discussing motive, means, and method. I did not figure it out until it was explained at the end.
