A novel of terrible first impressions, hilarious second chances, and the joy in finding your perfect match from "a true talent" (Emily Henry, #1 New York Times bestselling author). Dr. Briana Ortiz's life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother's running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that's probably going to the new man-doctor who's already registering eighty-friggin'-seven on Briana's "pain in my ass" scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it's a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn't actually Satan. Worse, he might be this fantastically funny and subversively likeable guy who's terrible at first impressions. Because suddenly he and Bri are exchanging letters, sharing lunch dates in her "sob closet," and discussing the merits of freakishly tiny horses. But when Jacob decides to give Briana the best gift imaginable—a kidney for her brother—she wonders just how she can resist this quietly sexy new doctor . . . especially when he calls in a favor she can't refuse. "Abby Jimenez's words...sprinkle humor and warmth all over my life." –Ali Hazelwood, New York Times bestselling author of The Love Hypothesis.… (altro)

Yours Truly by Abby Jimenez
Part of Your World Series #2. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone.
Dr Briana Ortiz doesn’t have the best impression of the new doctor in the hospital. She thought she had the promotion zipped up, but was told it’s been pushed back to give the new Dr Jacob Maddox a shot at it. Not a great week. But then she gets a letter from the new doctor. A good letter. Soon the two are writing back and forth, sharing lunch dates, and becoming friends. Then he does the unimaginable. He agrees to donate a kidney to her sick brother. For her. Needless to say, she’ll likely do anything for him now.

A cryer. (The story.) Maybe not as much as the prior book, but oh, so happy. Some angst, of course. It’s a failed kidney on a young man! And Jacob is a perfect match. How could she not fall in love with him if she wasn’t already with the letters and texting and fun outings they’ve had.
Romance at its best. ( )

This is equally adorable and infuriating. I just can't deal with miscommunication taking up 90% of the relationship. You're adults, please talk. Please. ( )

Such a wonderful book. One thing about Abby Jimenez, she will write a cinnamon roll MC. Jacob is such a sweet sweet man.

The anxiety rep in this one was great. As someone who struggled with anxiety for a very long time, I felt seen.
The miscommunication in this one really dragged out everything and made it very frustrating. ( )

I wish the writing had been a tad better and the two-idiots-making-wrong-assumptions-about-each-other thing went on too long, but I enjoyed this quite a bit. Such a sweet, cozy story, and it made me laugh a LOT. ( )

If you’ve read any of Abby Jimenez’s other books, this one will not disappoint. And if you haven’t, you need to rectify that. This one, as the title implies, has a really beautiful letter and journaling motif that plays a large part in this (misunderstood) enemies to lovers relationship between two ER doctors.

“We’re all a little broken…. We are a mosaic. We’re made up of all those we’ve met and all the things we’ve been through. There are parts of us that are colorful and dark and jagged and beautiful” (364). ( )
