Will Tapashree be able to prove her innocence and gain her spot for her position as a High Court Judgeship? Will her lover remain silent to the injustice against her and fall prey to the manipulation? And most importantly how can a human being ever fall in love to just get their heart broken and lose so much on the line? These are some of the questions if not all that you will keep asking yourself when reading Miss Usha Purohit’s Rising In The Safehouse.
Love can be a powerful healing emotion. It can drive you to light on days you thought you’d want to give up. But love can also be the most dubious and heart wrenching emotion a human heart can feel. Our protagonist of the story, Tapashree, is just another human heart looking for things that we as human beings can desire - a successful career , financial stability and of course love. Tapas here after completing her Post Graduation in Philosophy decided that law was her calling. So after a rather wholesome conversation with her father, she left for Kolkata to join Law college. She stayed there with her grandfather and her ever doting uncle, and fell for Rajveer once they met in college. It was a new life which Tapashree was enjoying, following her true calling, learning more about law, getting to share all her academic experiences with somebody she loved and needless to say her home with her grandfather and uncle. But just like nothing lasts forever so did her newfound happiness. She along with her boyfriend both made it to the short list and were rumored to be appointed as High Court judges. Rajveer's grandfather manipulates a judge in collegium to vote against Tapashree on the claims that she has a questionable character because he wants Rajveer to succeed. And just like that every thing that the girl put her heart into got shattered. It was inevitable that she would end up losing her position but to what? False accusations made behind her back and not because she was not competent enough? Human heart happens to be the most fragile little organ so while her brain was fighting and looking for ways to get back up, her heart was devastated to learn about this cruel felony. After all this heartache was there anything even left to still fight for ? Was her love just another mistake and how was she supposed to even face her even supporting grandfather after this ? As questions kept spiraling inside her, she held onto the things she knew she would never lose - her zeal to fight , her raging courage and her righteous loving heart. Miss Usha Purohit has brilliantly delivered yet another masterpiece. The simplicity with which yet another societal social issue is being addressed to cater to the minds of the readers is what I fell in love with.
Rising In The Safehouse should and must be your next read because it addresses the right issues in the most beautiful way without making it daunting even for a second. This also portrayes the dilemma of choosing between your heart and your mind , of choosing between your emotions and your reasoning. While reading just one of her work might not satisfy your little heart but the ending of this story might. ( )
