Puppy Love and Christmas Cookies is the third installment from Merrillee Whren’s series, Happiness in Hallburg. I found this to be a sweet and delightful story of love and romance, wrapped around the Christmas Spirit. With cute puppies and matchmaking kids, I had no other choice but to love it every single page. It is under one hundred fifty pages, I had no problem reading it in one sitting.

I am giving Puppy Love and Christmas Cookies five stars. Readers who are looking for a quick and clean holiday romance, will want to add this one to their Christmas reading list. I would love to read the other books from the Happiness in Hallburg series.

This delightful novella focuses on Lesley Ackerman, who has just been dumped by her long-time boyfriend and Alex Randall, a widower with two young children. Although both are reluctant to enter a new relationship, friends introduce them in hopes that someone new can help ease the hurt and help them move forward.

However, Lesley soon realizes that there is a part of her past that could seriously jeopardize even a friendship between them. Can this block be overcome?

Merrillee Whren creates a beautiful story where forgiveness takes center stage and, with a little interference from friends and Alex’s children, a romance can blossom. This book is a novella and takes little time to read, making it a perfect choice for someone without a lot of extra time.
