The second book in the Mike Bravo Ops series, Rogue, continues the story of the Mike Bravo Ops team - a black ops company of private contractors who undertake the missions the government can't or won't handle. The founder, Travis West created the company to give a safe place to LGBT+ servicemen and all members are either LGBT+ or LGBT+ friendly. Rogue tackles a new couple - this time Travis West and the DEA agent he's never been able to forget, Dylan Rodriguez - and begins directly where the last book's epilogue ended. While it could standalone and to some extent does, it works better if you're familiar with the first book, as many of the Mike Bravo Ops team appear and there are lots of in jokes and references to previous events. Mike Bravo owner, Travis West, has been taken with DEA agent, Dylan Rodriguez since the moment they met and has spent the last seven years finding ways to be close and annoy the hell out of him. But when he finds out Dylan is in danger, he'll do anything to keep him safe. Dylan Rodriguez would rather turn to anyone but Travis West, but when a routine drug bust turns deadly, he has no choice but to ask Travis for help in clearing his name. This was a fun lighthearted romantic suspense with a bit of murder, a bit of action and a lot of steam. I liked Travis and Dylan and I enjoyed the snarky banter they had going on and the input from the rest of the Mike Bravo Ops team. The ragging on each other was hilarious and I loved the bet they had going. My one complaint would be Dylan's attitude - he was a bit too black and white for my liking. He was very judgey of Travis and black ops - even though he was using those skills to protect him. His determination to resist and refute the feelings he had made the narrative drag a little but there was plenty going on to make up for it. An enjoyable read with lots of action, flirty banter and steam. 3.5 stars, rounded to 4. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

TRAV I remember the first time I met Dylan Rodriguez. It was one sweaty encounter I'll never forget. The second time we met, he arrested me. I can still see the hot scowl on his beautiful face as he slapped handcuffs on me and realized I was … me. Dylan's main goal in life is to forget he ever met me. My goal is to make him mine. Turns out, I'm better at this game than he is. DYLAN When my law enforcement career falls to pieces in front of my own eyes, I don't know who I can trust. I have nowhere to go. No one to turn to. Asking Trav for help is a last resort, but I'm desperate. If he can't get me out of this mess, I may as well turn myself over to the guys hunting me down. I'm not sure which will be more difficult: protecting my life or my heart. Because when it comes to love, my heart wants what my brain doesn't. It wants Travis West. As the giant, tough military agent at the top of his game, Trav and his besottedness seem unlikely, which adds goofy charm and humour.
The object of his affections, Dylan, is a detective who wants to tread very carefully with the larger than life, in-your-face Trav.
Trav's persistence is irresistible however. ( )
