But as usual with books like this, there’s always the requisite break up drama at about the 75 to 80% mark. Sometimes you understand it. Sometimes you don’t. This is one of the cases where you don’t. But let’s back up and talk a little about what this book is actually about. Brooke works as an interior architect for this family firm that designs homes. She’s very up-and-coming and very good her job. However her mother is very harsh and cruel. Her mother is more the type to tear her down rather than build her. So when an occasion comes up that she needs to go back home, she refuses to go without a date. But because of her life has gone so far, she’s not interested in having an actual boyfriend. So she considers putting out an ad on her social media for a fake boyfriend. She ends up using a coworker, Moss, as her fake boyfriend. Like Brooke, Moss has also decided that relationships aren’t for him. So he feels he’s the perfect candidate to help her situation. So the two begin a fake relationship that ends up becoming more and more real. And in the end, the two fear they want different things from this fake relationship and that causes drama. Quite unnecessary drama in my opinion because I feel Brooke was being very selfish and self-centered.
However, most of the book was fun and pleasant to read. And I really read this book because I wanted to get to the second book in the series. So it should be fun to read about another brother. ( )
