With an emotional and powerful story I couldn’t stop crying as the characters became real to me. The town where the story takes place is very small and little by little is becoming almost like a ghost town. It needs a breath of fresh air and people who care about each other to rebuild and help each other out. Solomon is a man with a heart filled with love, grace, wisdom and compassion. He reaches out to those who need help or perhaps a listening ear to guide them to forgiveness and find hope. His story is filled with loss but he never lets that hinder him from helping others. I adored Solomon and would love to sit with him on his front porch in the swing. He reminds me so much of my granddad. He was a quiet man who spoke softly and never had a harsh word for anyone. Each character in the book has a connection to Solomon in some way. Harper was especially touched by Solomon’s kindness and I loved how her story was shared with flash backs. The author addresses some difficult subjects with grace and shows how important it is to accept responsibility for your actions. The lessons are many in this moving story. I think it is important to understand how we can each make an impact on others if we take the time to really listen without judging. The ending is bittersweet and I loved how we witness a homecoming for two special people who are finally reunited. We never know what tomorrow will bring so take each day and make a difference. Never let a day go by without telling others how important they are to you. I close this review by honoring the Solomon’s of the world; “Well done thy good and faithful servant.” I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion . nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
