I'm not going to go into telling you what the story is about. There is a synopsis for that and to tell you more would ruin the story. I will tell you that this book made me think of American Horror Story. It has all the elements you find on that show, in the story. There is steamy, (explicit), sex. There is a couple who each have their own agenda. There is a ghost. There is a creepy house. The author takes those elements and weaves them into a horror story reminiscent of the first, (and in my opinion best), season of AHS. It is not a retelling of that season though. This story is completely different. If you enjoyed that season you will enjoy this book.
I did note a couple of things with format/editing which I let the author know about. He is looking into that so I don't expect them to remain. Anyone who isn't into erotica mixed in with their horror probably won't fully appreciate the story. I would say to them that I think it was a part of explaining Ron, Laura and the driving dynamics of their relationship. To understand Ron you need to know, at least somewhat, where his mind is. So if you really don't like that, skim over. I think you will be able to appreciate why it is in the book even if you don't read that part entirely. The story is worth it. If you are looking for gore, this won't satisfy that desire. This story is a dark, creepy ghost type. The kind that you read and keep the lights on long after. Anyone for a trip to the basement? Yeah. Probably not when you finish this book. ( )
