Dreadgod is the eleventh and penultimate book in Will Wight's Cradle series. If there's one thing that is consistent about this series it's that the title is relevant to the plot of the book. If you didn't guess it already... all the dreadgods attack and it's all hands on deck to deal with the crisis. I love how Lindon has plans to help everyone accelerate their progression, even in a time of crisis. It was fun seeing the team split into uncommon pairs as they all worked to help each other grow and getting more page time with characters who haven't gotten as much love in recent books. Oddly it felt like the main climax of the book happened mid way through with the remainder of the story as the build up to book 12. It is one hell of a set up! Holy crap does Lindon and team have a situation on their hands. My main complaint is there wasn't enough Eithan. I definitely needed more Eithan in the story. Waiting for the final book to release is difficult. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

"The battle in the heavens has left a target on Lindon's back. His most reliable ally is gone, the Monarchs see him as a threat, and he has inherited one of the most valuable facilities in the world. At any moment, his enemies could band together to kill him."--Amazon.com Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

This is book 11, in a twelve book series. This review will contain some spoilers.

First off the emotional tension brought in this book was done tastefully. I was worried because of the previous books that our main characters would really come to know grief. While I still feel that is said for our “main” characters; I think we finally got to see more of the negative sides to this power tiered world actually expressed in the writing. While we don’t get the grief of Jai Longs death from a first person perspective, we still get to see it expressed in the eyes of Jai Chen and Kelsa.
The Red Moon Hall and the battle between Herald and Sage was probably my favorite fight, conflict, and side story to come out of this series by far. And the comedic flare that our main characters add to their situation.
Could have had more advancements in this book, but I’m fine with what we got; there is a huge promise left at the end of this book that should satiate my *hunger* for more advancement.
I don’t want to stuff spoilers in here if I don’t have to, but the help given to Lindon during his fight with the Dreadgod just felt organic and right. So many ancient forces are rising around, literally out of the past, to either hurt or aid Lindon, and it’s good to see someone not apart of the main cast providing a hand.
And then finally DROSS IS BACK BABBY! I mean, he hadn’t left had he? We all went through a darker time in our lives that we referred to as adolescence… I will miss the edgy dark dross that reminded me of my angst fueled teen years, but I’m beyond thrilled to have the Mind spirit we’ve all come to know and love.
Welp… time to wait for the final book, Waybound, to seal an amazing series. Until then…
