A fallen king with no hope for a future nor wanting one, Ash is lost after being distraught after losing all he did. He doesn’t see a way to move forward and has no regard for his own life, he is self-destructing with no hope and doesn’t care who he hurts along the way. After placing blame for the worse day of his life on Annie she sees Ash at his very lowest and wants to help him even if he only sees her as his major downfall. After a major fallout and experiencing hurt like no other Annie sees no way to deal but to leave for a while and hope when she returns things will be that least bearable. Ash only sees Annie as his demise but there is more lurking beneath the hatred. This book was beyond amazing as we follow along with the families and all the ups and downs, they must endure I couldn’t put it down. Ash’s story was tragically beautiful when things happen the way they do especially when you don’t see things that are coming. I know this is vague but you will want to experience this journey with them. I absolutely can’t wait for more!!! I know this is vague but you will want to experience this journey with them. I absolutely can’t wait for more!!! The best one yet. I'm not sure there are enough words or stars for this book. It is the best one yet, and surpassed Chase's two books. I felt everything in this book. I think that is what made it hit even harder. The push and pull while teasing me with the anticipation of Ash and Annie finally coming together had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I lived for their interactions. I liked also getting a few chapters from Chase's point of view. This is a slow burn. The sexual tension was there but it took a long time for THE moment. Normally, I'd have been frustrated with that but if worked well in this story. It also allowed room for the characters to heal. I was surprised by the twist at the end. It seemed odd that in this lifestyle, that it would have been an option, especially, from Chase. I can't day more because I won't spoil the book. Highly recommend this book. I'm surprised that the next book isn't Tanks but I'm okay with who is next. I'm sure his time will come. Eagerly waiting for the next book. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

HTML: A mafia romance about love and loss by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Eagle Elite series. ...When you awaken in the morning's hush "I'm sorry for your loss." I would rather be tortured for an eternity than hear those damn words from one more person, as if Claire, my dead fiance, was a cell phone or car keys. Destructive King is the third in the Mafia Royals series. If you love NA mafia romance, then I do recommend this series especially if you love a more comedy feel to it which is actually rare for the dark romance genre. Dyken has a writing style that really blends in some unique elements that just seem to really work so well together. I was really fascinated by this one. It also has a tortured dark hero with a shy sweet heroine of sorts. I love the parallels of their personalities that may seem to not work together, but they fit so right because our heroine is strong when he needs someone to stand up to him when the pain is getting too much for him. I really found the family dynamics in this one to be quite interesting and the romance was delectable at times. I really didn't have a issue with this book. It wasn't quite a five star and honestly it was almost a week ago since I read this one so I am just not sure what my exact issue was that kept it from a five star, but I did enjoy it for the most part so it gets a solid 4 star for me. Very eager to see what happens next in the series though. ( )
