While the book had some potential.I found it to be too short, far too short. While it's nice to have a short read, I came out of the book wishing it was less rushed.
Due to the short nature of the book, the majority of things had to be rushed, including the characters and pacing, meaning development would need to be fast. Because of all of this, I struggled to invest in the story and connect to it.

I enjoyed this book and the characters especially Aiden, but

the reason that Aiden notices Stella

But before I ever stopped to engage her, I saw that half smile reflected in the window and I couldn’t seem to quit trying to get it back on her face. To make her lips tick up again.

Her half-smile was beautiful. It stopped me dead in my tracks.

the only reason he engages her on the street is because she's pretty. Then he goes way out of his way first to interview her and then to offer her a trial position.

While all this is happening the only thing I could think of, ashamed that I had never even considered it before. What about all the other people who have committed a crime, done there time, and know that because a serious mistake on there own part they will never have a chance of a good job, a good life. Whats the point of rehabilitating someone if after your done your time you now have less a chance to make something of your life. It's like we just want to force parolees to re-offend.

I really like that Aiden is a nice guy, and his portrayal throughout the book bears that out. I know the heart wants what the heart wants but often times I wonder in books and movies how the characters can choose to be with awful people especially when a very nice character is available to them.
