Heartmates tells the story of two friends born on the same day and friends for life. Along the way, some communications go awry and the two, Main Character Lars Lofgren and his friend, Connor Perry, ghost each other for three years. Both boys are heartbroken but neither will take the steps necessary to mend the rift and restore their relationship. Along the way, the two discover that they are becoming more than just lifelong friends, they have become "heartmates". two men hopelessly in love with one another.
I enjoyed this book. Its ending and even a good deal of its plot were predictable and the book drew the story out much longer than it should have, but overall, it is a fun book, pure escapist reading which has pretenses of being nothing more than that. ( )
